Celebrating International Women's Day!
DGourmondo began over 24 years ago with a unique concept in mind: creating a high-quality business that supports working families. Named one of Puget Sound Business Journal’s Largest Women-Owned Businesses and Fastest Growing Companies, owner Alissa Leinonen’s vision was created, in part, by her own experience as a parent. Mother of two young children, Alissa grew Gourmondo with a family-first philosophy, working part time to raise her children and growing her business slowly.
From the start, Gourmondo’s family-oriented culture has allowed for full-time employees on our kitchen team to leave work in time to pick up their kids from school. The company also stops production each day at 10:30am to enjoy a family meal together. Today, Gourmondo’s focus on culture remains an important part of the company’s business structure. Over 60% of Gourmondo employees are women and we take great pride in the tight-knit community Gourmondo’s culture has created. Eight of our eleven departments are led by talented women, many of whom were promoted from within to their current managerial positions.
Catalina Zarate oversees kitchen production for Gourmondo’s boxed lunch and delivery division. Production is broken up into hot line items, salads, sandwiches, and box lunches for breakfast and lunch. A mother of five, and a member of Team Gourmondo for seven years, Catalina worked in each area of the division before working her way up to her current role.
Jennifer Welshhons is Gourmondo’s Pastry Chef and works with her team to produce over 10,000 pastries and desserts each month. Jen’s creativity is especially prevalent in her development of unique sweets for new menus and custom orders.
Hallie Sinclair manages Catering Operations and oversees over 40 servers and operations supervisors. Hallie’s easy-going nature and can-do attitude allows her and her team to execute Gourmondo’s events at the highest caliber.
Katherine Dunsmoor is Gourmondo’s Purchasing Manager and oversees Gourmondo’s warehouse and supplies. In Katie’s 26 years in the food industry she has held a multitude of positions from Dish Washer to Executive Chef, she is classically French trained and even met her husband while attending the Art Institute of Seattle.
Linda Rajasavong (center with Events Team and Chef Team) leads the Special Events team in creating top-notch events tailored to each individual’s unique needs. Linda values a strong team-oriented dynamic and leads her team with an upbeat, positive energy.
Rachel Moore has been with Gourmondo for over five years and started out in our Client Services department. Rachel’s analytical mindset has allowed her to work her way up to Customer Service Director before transitioning to her role as Culture Director, managing HR, company culture, and marketing strategy.
Flavia Sheldija (left with her Client Services team) started in Client Services four years ago. Her problem solving skills allowed her to move into the Customer Service Director role where she leads a fantastic all-women team.
Kim Ruiz (middle right with her Cafe Team) is the newest addition to the Gourmondo team and Director of our Café division. Kim’s extensive café experience brings a broad outlook to her management of Gourmondo’s 11 cafes.
Thank you to all of the hardworking women that make Gourmondo such an exceptional place to work!
