This summer, the Gourmondo team was honored to cater a number of wonderful events, two of which were the charity functions, the RAVE Foundation Gala and SAFE'S Heart of the Horse event.

At Gourmondo, we believe food has the power to bring people together and amplify the spirit of community. This summer, our team was honored to cater a number of wonderful events, two of which were the charity functions below.

Gourmondo at the RAVE Gala

This summer, we were proud to join the RAVE Foundation and the Seattle Sounders for their annual fundraising event. The evening gathered friends of the game and champions of community to support RAVE’s mission: creating free playfields and removing barriers so that all children can access the joy of soccer. We at Gourmondo were delighted to play a part in shaping the evening.

Gourmondo is the official caterer of the Seattle Sounders, routinely fueling their team dinners and match days, as well as operating an on-site cafe on site at their training facility! For the gala, our chefs were invited to design a seasonal menu that let summer ingredients shine.

During the cocktail hour, guests moved between themed stations that highlighted flavors from two of FIFA’s World Cup™ co-host countries. A Canadian-inspired Gourmondo Potato Poutine featured crisp roasted potatoes layered with Beecher’s cheese curds, parmesan, and a black pepper–herb gravy. From Mexico, we offered Seasonal Mini Tacos with Sonoran chicken and garlic-spiced cauliflower, finished with cabbage slaw, pickled red onions, Fresno chilies, and cotija.

Dinner followed with a family-style American BBQ menu with nods to Canada and Mexico: salads, roasted carrots with maple and chimichurri, rainbow potato salad, spice-roasted salmon with avocado salsa verde, peach-glazed chicken thighs, and roasted tofu.

Chocolate truffles rounded out the meal, and the after-party treated guests to a playful spread of croque monsieur, apricot-spiced malva cake, mochi, baklava, and made-to-order crepes.

Gourmondo at Heart of the Horse

We also had the recent honor of catering to over 300 people at the Heart of the Horse benefit at Safe Harbor Stables. The evening at their Redmond farm supported Save a Forgotten Equine (SAFE)’s mission of offering neglected and abused horses a second chance at healthy lives.

SAFE has spent two decades rescuing and rehabilitating horses across King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties. They partner with local animal control agencies and support struggling horse owners, ensuring no animal is left behind. At their gala, guests shared success stories, met the horses, danced, and (much to our delight!) enjoyed gourmet food and drink. The festivities raised a record-breaking $685,000 and counting for their incredible mission.

Gourmondo’s chefs designed a menu that honored the setting and the cause. Guests were welcomed with season-appropriate hors d’oeuvres: spring carrot polenta with carrot–almond pesto, a spiced vegetable “poke” with avocado mousse, soy-mirin glazed beef, and a Tuscan flatbread layered with prosciutto, pear, and gorgonzola.

Dinner followed with a trio of entrées: local halibut prepared Greek-style with fennel pollen and candied olives, savory braised beef short ribs with blackberry-shallot gastrique, and stuffed delicata squash filled with lemony tabbouleh and creamy pepita pesto—accompanied by crisp salads, smashed garlic potatoes, and roasted cauliflower.

To finish, guests enjoyed berry cobbler and dark chocolate mousse cups, a sweet end to a lovely evening.

Our Commitment Beyond Catering

Philanthropy has been part of Gourmondo since day one. As a local Seattle business, we’ve always felt a responsibility to give back to the city and people who have supported us. Food is at the heart of what we do, and we believe it should also be a source of comfort and care for those who need it most.

That’s why giving is built into our daily operations. We’ve established long-term partnerships with nonprofits that share our values, focusing our efforts on fighting food insecurity, protecting immigrant rights, addressing chronic homelessness, and strengthening our community. Our contributions come in many forms: providing meals to food banks and nonprofits, donating proceeds from our Giving Boxes, and creating professional opportunities through internships.

Through our Community Food Donation Program, we proudly partner with three local non-profit organizations to donate unsold food from our cafes every week–more than $10,000 worth of fresh, high-quality meals each month. Additionally, every box lunch purchased from our Giving Box program helps fund our local nonprofit partners, with each Box containing a card introducing where its proceeds go. We even have a bespoke box for the RAVE Foundation!

In 2025, Gourmondo was honored for the sixth time with the Puget Sound Business Journal Corporate Citizenship Award, which recognizes companies that integrate philanthropy into their mission. This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting the region and the people we serve–the RAVE and SAFE galas being one more reflection of those values.

Wrapping up the Summer With Love

This summer reminded us of the many ways food can nourish more than just the body. At the RAVE Gala, our team stood alongside the Seattle Sounders to support soccer programs that open doors for kids across Washington. At SAFE’s Heart of the Horse, we helped celebrate two decades of lifesaving work for neglected and abused horses. Both evenings were different in setting, but both carried the same spirit of community and care.

For us at Gourmondo, that throughline matters most. Whether it’s crafting themed stations for a high-profile fundraiser, designing menus that honor a rustic setting, or donating meals week after week to local nonprofits, our work is always about connection.
