Gourmondo will add to its collection of cafes with a new location opening in early August

Respected local caterer Gourmondo Co. — which also operates three public cafes and several private cafes for Amazon — will open a Lower Queen Anne restaurant in early August. Gourmondo Cafe will sport a patio and pool table, and the offerings will range from grab-and-go items, a full coffee bar, and food like pressed sandwiches and seasonally influenced entrees for dining in.

The cafe (201 Elliott Ave W) will source baguettes from Le Panier, custom spice blends from World Spice Merchants, Molly Moon’s ice cream, and Washington farmed produce. There will also be a happy hour with discounts on local beer and wine. Other beverage options will include energy and health drinks, and canned cold brew. A small retail area will sell snacks, booze, and meals to go.

The new cafe adds to the portfolio of owner Alissa Leinonen, whose company employs 250 people. Leinonen operated her first public cafe in Pike Place Market from 1996 until 2001, and now operates Cafe Marketplace in Denny Triangle, and Cafe Union and Cafe Gatsby in South Lake Union. Leinonen has garnered awards for her entrepreneurship, and her company is Seattle’s largest and longest running women-owned, full-service catering and gourmet box lunch company.
